   Actually, if you’ve ever read A.C.Doyle, Holmes never once says “Elementary, my dear Watson”.

   this is a joke. if you have read any of doyle”s work then you would see that this looks terrible and completely unfaithful. Holmes is one of my favorite literary characters, and i also love robert downey jr. but the casting is awful, neither of the characters even have remotely the same body type as as the original characters. Not to mention the fact that it appears to be loaded with action scenes making this into something entirely different from the stories. Yes Holmes could box and run, but he was not james bond, they should have cast matt damon to seal the deal, because he looks more like jason bourne in the trailer then holmes. once again they have made a mockery of a literary masterpiece. this trend of bad adaptations is slowly killing off my list of favorites.

   I think it looks fun, isn’t that what entertainment is about. I, too am a Holmes fan but I am able to enjoy a broader spectrum of interpretation. This looks like a blast and I will certainly be there to watch.

    i am bit apprehensive about this movie given sherlock holmes is an icon in himself. depicting him in a different way may cause many of his fans to reject him. if any one of u have seen the anime DEATH NOTE then L is the perfect depiction of holmes in the modern era. hope that next time there comes a movie on holmes the character is created potraying high IQ of holmes not his fighting skills.
